My wife took out dog to watch my son play football, our dog which is only tiny was on a lead.....one of the other players mums had 3 sharpeis? and one of them broke free and attacked our, ripping it up like a rabbit.
25+ parents witnessed it and after one of the dads managed to boot the dog off ours (it had lockjaw) we managed to get ours and take it to an emergency vets......
The owner said its not usually like that and will help us with bills etc...as we only had a middle of the range insurance policy leaving us with a shortfall of £1700.....guess what we cant get hold of her, no replys to calls or txts...the police are involved as we didn't want the dog to harm any other dogs or children..what is the best thing to do

I know what I would do, but shooting the other dog might be illegal!
I haven't a clue where you stand as regards the law, sorry.

You got a like because I feel your pain .
My 18 year old cat got hit by a car a few years ago and broke his pelvis . His back legs where dragging behind him as he crawled up the garden path to get home . All the vets looked at me with the question in their eyes . 2k to try and fix an 18 year old cat or put him down . I found the 2k and we have just had tuna fish for lunch . Hes crashed out on the sofa now

Can any of the other football parents help out with proper contact details? In my experience the police won't be interested in you get financial recompense.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Your pet or household insurance policy may have a legal expenses section.

Should there be a prosecution in this instance the Police will ask for the details of cost. This will be used in the prosecution case to assist in showing the severity so the CPS will require it.

Keep all paperwork concerning your expenditure as this will prove the outlay.
