Hey guys, had a new roadie last week, carbon frame, 105 setup.

My old bike is here, alu with sora setup - I was windering what others tended to do with their old bikes once getting a new one.

Dunno whether to sell on, keep as a rough and tumble bike of swap out wheels and pedals and make a bit of an all purpose hybrid setup

I haven't replaced any bikes as I used them for different kinds of rides i.e. commuting club rides track and recreational. If you have the space why not keep it for spares like you said. I am a sentimental type of chap and probably would not want to part with any of them. The time will come when I also will upgrade to full carbon and the wife will no doubt tell me to get rid.

I need to prove to her that I can ride them all at the same time.

Hubby converted his old road bike to a commuter, complete with seat post rack. I gave my old road bike to my 18 year old son, but I'm still attached to it and find it difficult when he doesn't look after it properly. :cursing:

Auction it and donate the proceeds to SAT, screenmans added tax.

I sell mine. Once something newer and better comes along I never want to ride the old one.

For winter I prefer a custom built winter bike rather than trying to shoehorn unsatisfactory mudguards onto a close clearance frame.

My father in law was eyeing up bikes but he didn't really know what he wanted. When I bought a new all-rounder I gave him both my old hybrid and road bike, he now uses both after not cycling at all for 50 years or more. Win, win, happy and healthier FIL, space in shed for new stuff for me!
