Not screaming at the top of their voices at dogs half a mile away would be nice too.
I don't think they even bother to scream at them. I tend to hear a whistle or a couldn't care less, but i'll pretend i'm in control of it type of call, which the dog just ignores,or finally responds to after it's ran amok. I was in the cemetery on Friday, watering the plants on my dad's grave when i heard this stupid woman doing such a half hearted call to her Border Collie which had jumped over the wall from the nearby path and was heading towards me and my dog. No matter how much she whistled or made a stupid high pitched "come here baby" (baby ffs!

)call it wasn't having it and was heading towards us growling and snarling. I picked up my little dog and waited to see the whites of its eyes before cracking it with my trekking pole. Then it still came back for more. And as expected the irresponsible owner shouted stuff like "don't you hit my dog"!!!. Well, if you'd kept it away from me we wouldn't be having this confrontation i thought.
