That's farking shameful that is.
But why? Serious question. So long as it still does what it's supposed to do. Surely it's environmentally sound to extend the lifetime of things rather than chuck them out. What's the downside?

Agree it's environmentally sound to extend the lifetime of things rather than chuck them out.

Only downside with a chainset in that condition is that if could fail with alarming results if you happened to be standing on the pedals.

Spa Cycles will probably be able to sell you a nice new chainring. There's not a huge amount of mileage left in your current one.
