What type of training?
Do you want Cadence or HRM?
Do you want full mapping?
How much do you want to spend.

Best you check out the options at Garmin

The Speed/Cadence sensor is one unit so viable if you're training indoors where satellites aren't required. Not a bad thing to have on the road either as the garmin will display speed off the hardware as preference, not GPS. (Meaning potential satellite drops/blockages don't interfere with your readings)

HRM: Depends on the interval as HR is a lagging indicator.

My 800 cost me £200 new, granted I ended up in a bidding war for it.

The question you should be asking yourself is "Do I need maps?"
