What happened to decency?

This afternoon, my wife went to Morrisons to do some shopping. When she came back to the car park, some b*****d had scratched both near side doors while getting his / her car out. Needless to say, no phone number was left behind. Are people so wrapped up in their own lives that they can't admit to their own mistakes these days? What happened to decency and honesty?

Sadly people are so wrapped up in themselves, they are also totally not interested in taking responsibility for their actions.
Sorry this happened - any cctv on the car park that may have picked up the reg?

I am sorry it happened to you. Happened to me once in the company car park. Never found out who it was.. It is definitely a horrible thing to happen to someone.

How horrible. People don't take responsibility for things nowadays, its always someone elses problem. I hope that there was CCTV there. We do have more CCTV cameras than anywhere else in the world so maybe it will work in your favour.

That's true. Someone wiped a door mirror off my car once, a Vauxhall Cavalier. £40 to replace - a small fortune then.

I think one of the issues is insurance and the 'no-claims bonus' thing.

If either party to such an incident insists on going through the insurance companies and not sorting it our privately, both parties tend to get hammered by the insurance companies.
Happened to us once, we wanted to just pay up and leave the insurance out of an incident, but the other person insisted we went through insurance and it ended up costing loads more.

Gavroche, check out your local 'Chips Away' franchise- they repair scratches and dents without any fuss or hassle... we've used them for years and they are a fraction of getting it done through the insurance... our last repair cost half as much as the excess! I know a good panel beater and paint sprayer just down the road. He is very good and his rates are much cheaper than any garage so I will contact him tomorrow. Very annoying as it seems to happen to my wife every 18 months or so. Maybe she should give up driving? ( although if wasn't her fault).

If you do decide on a chimps sway jobbie check them out first, most are very inexperienced.

I make a lot of my income fixing car park dents, unfortunately for the car owners I am very busy. Most chimps sway do not fix dents even though they may advertise the fact, they farm it out to PDR guys like myself. Now I know most of you will not know about PDR, as a trade we may well have been to busy to get the word out to the public.

Both cills on my van have been swiped and dented to hell by cars . Buying the new van killed me financially but Boris said I had to get rid of my perfectly fine van so I scraped thousands of £ together to comply . It would get rid of loads of careless drivers if Boris made every car driver buy a newer car .
