Never done an all inclusive sunny holiday*

*well, I did once, with my ex in-laws who treated us and came with us, but they were not drinkers and didn't tell me that drinks were included. So I was merrily ordering cokes at the bar with my wristband all week, and only found out on the last day that I could have been drinking free beer all week. The ex MIL was a bit tight and judgemental so probably didn't want me drinking even though it was free

We have been on a few all-inclusive holidays
we do avoid the cheaper ones in the cheap resorts

Went to a lovely on in the Maldives
The barman in the nearest bar got to know us very well
when teh Wimbledon final was starting he had our drink ready on the bar and our seats reserved and was about to send a runner to get us!

some other places were less good - but avoiding the cheap "family friendly" places helps

I see Katie Price has got engaged again. Probably to a cc'er.

As you implying that her new fiancé is some who likes riding the local bike????

because that is just mean!

Gone to Venice to queue to buy an over-priced icecream.

I was pleasantly surprised on our day trip to Venice (on the train from Padua I think). Food, coffee, beer etc was perfectly reasonably priced, though we went to small local-looking places and avoid the notorious rip-off type venues in St Mark's square. We mostly just wandered round and avoided the hours queuing for the Doge's palace or 100 euro gondola rides, and thought the city was totally lovely

The two things that confused me when in Italy were
- in the days of Lira, before euros, when it came to adding a tip onto the bill, my mind could not grasp how many noughts were needed.
- the currency symbol for lira was the same as for the UK. The £ prices were confusing, until I twigged.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Reading one of the commuting threads it occurred to me ... I've never driven to work.

Vast majority of commuting has been by train. Some walking and a bit of cycling. Taxis sometimes back in the day when on client site and on expenses. But never driven myself.
