We had a fantastic Multicultural Festival yesterday. My wife and I played as part of the Japanese Taiko drumming group, and we did some collaboration with a fantastic Mexican drumming group too. There was a Mohawk blessing, there were Irish dancers, Brazilian samba bands, Scottish pipers, Egyptian belly-dancers and a mass crowd Cuban salsa lesson. It was a gorgeous day and everyone from the different cultures and religions had a great time. And the Syrian aid stall was overwelmed...
This made me smile - all day. Canadians are better than their government, and people get along, given the chance.

Photo of my late brother on FB today, taken on holiday with us in Crete about 10 years ago. Good times. It would have been his birthday today. Thanks to my daughter for posting it on FB. He meant a lot to us all, he always was the clown of the family...in the best possible sense. He made us laugh then, seeing his photo made me smile when I saw it. Bitter sweet.
