I have been carrying out bird counts along the shore for the past 23 years, and today for the first time, I took my camera and tried to take a few bird pics.

We gave our daughter's boyfriend a family hug as they left for home at the station... bit of a milestone in her relationship with him. He's a nice lad.

I've never tried eating a Romanesque cabbage - if I bought one I think I'd just end up staring at it for hours on end.

Tea, (well for the first time in long, long time anyway), just picked up Mrs S's Tatty Teddy mug instead of my Spongebob mug, what can I say?.......URGH! Note to self, put specs on instead of making a random mug selection:biggrin:

Tried to watch Downton abbey. I won't be doing that one again.

I usually run a mile from 'Period Dramas', but I found Downton oddly compelling, mainly I think because it is recent history that most of us can relate too in one way or another (it started in 1912) and it is just as much to do with the servants/staff as it is the gentry.

It is one of these things that you need to watch from the beginning to get a jist of the interactions between them all, and there are a certain 2 characters who you wouldn't trust as far as throw them!

It can be tame, I'll not deny that, but hey, it IS Sunday Night Prime Time viewing, and when going head to head with the likes of The Antiques Road Show and Songs Of Praise, it doesn't NEED to be gritty.

When I first bought one I did that. I took it out the fridge and just looked at it. One day it was off and had to be binned!

Today I cut a woodwork joint, a housing joint, to join a bit of MDF to a bit of pine. First proper joint for nearly a year. That is a good sign.
Those who know how poorly I have been will know that is a milestone, others may just think I am mad. Both are probably correct!
