Seems to me that we don't really have seasons any more, just the same old crap most of the year round but colder and darker in the winter.

And I don't think that weather forecasters are very good at it.

the cotton spinning had more to do with labour, land and the slave trade triangle.

Manchester wouldn't be the size it is without the weather - it was the dampness that made that part of the country ideal for cotton spinning and weaving - the dampness keeps the fibres pliable and prevents them breaking.

Urban myth. The heat inside the mills more than compensated.

The cotton spinning had more to do with labour, land, technology and the slave trade triangle.

I don't think agreement has been reached on that yet.
However, the weather did improve from the 28th.

This might not be so simple as that!

Willhub is in Manchester, I am in the far west, and classic 33 does not state his location.:smile:

There was a chilly wind and rain threatened last Wednesday in this part of the country.

Location:- Yorkshire.

28th started wet, raining going to work, dried out by around 1300. "Dinner" time/break.

Anyone else, anywhere else remember what it(the weather) was doing on the 28th?
