I was also riding along in South London, on London Road, a few weeks back, filtering down the left hand side of a routine 1 mile tailback (Happens most nights due to lights) with cars moving at around sub 5mph when a Black X5 started veering left to close the space as I approached it.
Heads Up!

HEADS UP!

By this point I'm about to enter into a unsafe space so I knock on his rear-most window. Not a bang, not violent, like a polite knock on a door. He jerks over to the right, I come alongside and his window comes down. As I attempt to launch into 'Thanks mate' he bellows. 'What the fcuk are you doing touching my car?'
I put my big man voice on and tell him that it was a knock on glass and he needed to calm down, and make sure he leaves room down his nearside as he's practically mounting the kerb. His return volley was 'You should have some f*****g lights on'
My Hope V1 had died. I hadn't realised as the road was so well lit. All I could offer was 'Sorry, I didn't realise, the batteries must have gone in the last 20 minutes. You were too close to the kerb though, but I can't expect you to see me coming if I'm not lit up'
"F**k! A f*****g cyclist, apologising... whatever next?"
'An X5 driver not thinking he owns the road?'
His scowl cracked and he started laughing. I cycled off.
So, if it was the same guy, he may be one of the worst drivers on the road, but... at least he has a sense of humour?.....
In all seriousness, hope you've recovered.
