Best bit of clothing I have bought is some Shimano bibtights about 5years ago.

They are some sort of softshell material that is quite warm and water resistant (though that has long since gone) they have NO pad, simple ankle zips and just hit the spot. Sadly they're getting very tired and I have not been able to find anything similar since.

Not far behind is a thin yellow nylon running jacket from decathlon that cose about a tenner. It just adds some proper pockets and brightness on mild days.
