Rucksack for me. Panniers unsettle the bike's handling too much.

I'd rather not have a laptop strapped to my back if I crash.

Prefer a rucksack (ogio street), with a separate padded zipup laptop compartment. Been carrying a laptop for over 3 years on my fixed gear (26 mile return journey). I like to keep my bikes rear end light (for kerb hopping etc), so panniers are a no-no. I've probably had 3 falls/accidents, during which the laptop has always survived. In fact, the rucksack has always cushioned the impact on me, as its padded by my clothes. I'm sure me and the laptop would have been worse off damage wise with a pannier.

Your call - I prefer to rely on a jersey and back fat.
