Etyres or mytyres is worth a try

black circles normally give two prices, one for delivering the tyres, the other covers delivering them to one of their approved fitters and having them fitted.

Just make sure you know the full cost including fitting before going ahead.

I find the online price .... Then ring local tyre fitters and ask for the price, when they give you the price, start haggling. You'd be suprised how many will knock 10% or even 20% off the price they had just quoted you.
Even kwik fit will price match

I used to use E-Tyres and was quite happy with them. The price was good and I could select the tyres I wanted on line and arrange a fitting at the place and time that suited me.
Down sides were that not all tyres were available and I couldn't always match an older tread design to keep a matching set on the car.

I now use Murts Garage in Hebden Bridge as they do my servicing and their prices are comparable and sometimes cheaper and I would prefer to give them my business as they are nice people..

Micheldever Tyres are pretty good, if you were close to Winchester than Worcester. +1 to getting a price online (print a copy of the quote) than speaking to a local place.

I need 4 of them. I've had a couple of quotes from local tyre slums but not too impresed.

To be fair to BC, they make it very clear on their web page which is which.

Favourite at the moment are http://www.valuetyres.co.uk/
The problem with local tyre fitters is that my tyres are a funney size (215/70 R 16) and the two I've approached so far have a very small choice or can't get them at all.
I'm thinking of: Barum Bar Bravuris 4x4 100s at £87.70 a pop inc fitting.

I've never heard of those tyres:eek:
I'm all for getting vfm, but please put on the best tyres you can afford - they are after all the only contact point your car makes with the road.the best brakes/driver in the world can end up in a Ditch with cheap nasty tyre.
Good midrange tyres to look at are falken & kumho.
Your tyre size can be changed if you wish. The key is to keep the same overall diameter + or - 2% so your gearing and speedometer are not affected. Google "tyre calculator" and enter you size, them see if going slightly wider with a lower side profile will give you a tyre that is more easily available.
E.g 215\70 r16 might be equiv to 225\65 r16 . This would give your handling a sharper feel, with better cornering.
(example only as I'm on tapatalk)
If you need specific recommendations, let me know and I'll get online and have a look later

I refuse to believe that manufacturers are permitted to sell tyres in this country which are so poor that even 'the best driver in the world' would end up crashing a car fitted with them. Its patent nonsense.

Barum Bar Bravuris supposed to be mid range made by Continental I think.

I will look at the calculator and see if anything is easier. Any recommendations would be appreciated of course

Then you've not driven on Linglongs! I agree that budget tyres are horrendous!
