i didn't want to derail the other thread about "coolest bikes" so, just to see if there is any real bike snobbery regarding brand names, if you were faced with a warehouse full of bikes of varied brands, shapes and sizes but the bikes were all unbranded meaning you have no way of identifying the bikes, how would you choose the best or coolest bike?
Remember you have no way of identifying the manufacturer of the bikes.
Exactly, nail on the head!!!Actually if you could remove all the branding I might consider something that wasn't Cinelli - I hate advertising, and with bikes having their brand distracting you from the shape and colour scheme I just can't see past it.
I'm too old for mountain bikes but that is indeed beautiful.I have to admit that is rather nice for an mtb.
Exactly, nail on the head!!!
So on the strength of the answers so far the brand name means very little as the feel / rideability of the bike is more important, does this confirm my thoughts regards bike snobbery?
Do some people buy bikes based on the name, looks and cost of the bike rather than the bike that fits and rides the best , a bit like some people who will only buy designer label trainers and clothes, mmmmmmmm, I wonder.
First job throw all the Matt black ones out to narrow the field down a bit.
The best is whichever one best serves the purpose I want to use it for, the coolest is the one that's the been in the fridge.
Is it steel? Is it lugged? Does it have Campag on it?
If anyone can tell me what brand this is I'd be gratetful. No serial number or logo anywhere on it but 'coolest' bike I own, I got it as a frame and forks with Camagnolo headset and seat stem, the rest is my own work.
