I'm only comfortable with riding two abreast with certain riders. I've found a few squash you into the pavement and some are not quite aware of the dangers up ahead and are a little late to act.

That's Ponteland Road in Newcastle. I actually avoid it on my commute due to a combination of standing traffic at rush hour and very little room to filter. I don't think the cyclists were doing anything wrong - a driver would have to leave the lane to pass even if they were in single file. The van driver was aggressive and used his vehicle as a weapon, so he's definitely the one in the wrong. He looked hard though, so I can see why the cyclists backed down. You don't want to argue with a Raoul Moat type about the intricacies of the highway code.
