Why was Jimmy blindfolded when he asked?

All the kids felt safer.

I once played at Twickenham rugby ground. Yes I did. Not rugby you understand, it was a local schools competition. I was in the sack race.

More than that, Outside of Thames TV, Teddington studios, I once walked past Honor Blackman of Avengers, and Pussy Galore fame. For a lad of 13 it was an unsettling experience.

On the subject of Jimmy Saville, my late wife's dad was former Royal Navy and for some occasion or other , Saville visited the ship (i know FIL served on HMS Belfast, so perhaps that)...and at some stage, Saville scooped up my wife (then a young child) and her dad, a no nonsense mentality of a fella told Saville...'put her down'
Saville apparently ignored him...so FIL said, (something along the lines of)
'put her down...or I'll put you down'

Knowing FIL, he'd have done just that, he took sh1t from no one.

I had a drink at the bar of Cambridge Corn Exchange with Captain Sensible of The Damned before a gig in the late 70s.
A few years later I was in the video promoting a Lene Lovich single. It was filmed at Sheperton Studios. It was meant to look like a live performance at a gig. It took all day to film with multiple takes. As "audience members" we were "paid" a can of beer and a sandwich.
