Changing a tyre without using tyre levers.

No. This was a serious question. I never grew up with a dad, so thought there would be some older males that could shed some light on it, but I guess not.

I think if you take a cross-section of the male responses to this thread that will probably give you some insight into "what makes a man"!

I would say: Fatherhood. Nothing else comes close.

(And obsessing over bikes.)

Looks like I'll have to wait then as I won't be having kids, yet, well, not for 6 years I'd say

oh groan..London Cyclist, did you not learn much from the 'all women' thread you started? Seriously, what is it with the gender stereotypes? Be forward thinking, progressive and be yourself..none of this real men rubbish!
You seem to be missing the reason as to why I'm asking.

Not sure fatherhood would do it, ask most teenagers what they think of their Dad and it is more likely he is a Dxxk or boring old etc. doubt they would say a real man. Not till they have kids anyway.

OK, I'm going to assume it's a serious question and give a serious answer, in so far as I can.
A real man can accept someone elses point of view. Might not agree with it, but accepts it.
Reasoning and persuasion are valid tools in a debate. Fists and shouting are not.
A real man can hug someone who needs it.
A real man can solve problems, but knows when to seek help too.
Leading others is a good skill to have. So is being lead by others. Depends on the situation.
Real men don't feel the need to put others down, they'd sooner help them up.
The thing is, all the above apply to women too. It's all part of being a well-rounded, happy and functional person.
IMHO, obviously.
