CharlieB

Junior Walker and the Allstars
Abbey Road - the Beatles
A Passion Play - Jethro Tull
Close To The Edge - Yes
Foxtrot - Genesis

All originally bought on vinyl when they were released and replaced on vinyl and CD.

I know, I know, there goes a desperate old hippy and his prog-rock fixation…

I've wore out three copies of Dark Side Of The Moon. Don't have a copy now though 'cos I fear I've heard some of the tracks a little too often.

& Two copies of Rubicon.

I've also got some tapes of Tommy Vance's Friday Rock shows, Fluff, and John Peel that I've played so many times I hardly dare play them any more.

Their best album, in my opinion. I didn't wear my copy out though. Some of the albums I've played and played have been mentioned here already. When I was young a few that spring to mind are The Yes Album, Close to the Edge and especially Relayer by Yes, Autobahn and Radioctivity by Kraftwerk, Monster Movie, Soundtracks and Soon over Babaluma by Can, actually nearly all Can stuff really; The clear one and So Far and Faust IV by Faust, Deluxe by Harmonia, Neu,. Neu2 and Neu75, the list could go on.

That is of course one of the all time greats but I don't think it would be a candidate for me wearing it out because I find a listen through is such a rich and rewarding experience that it keeps me satisfied for quite a while. Keith at his best.

Nomination for best track? Mine would be Ventilator Blues.

It is of course, Keef's finest hour. There are still some people out there in music land who just don't "get it". Who just don't understand why it ranks as the best rock'n'roll album ever and will always be. Hard to pick a favourite - but Sweet Virginia is fab, and Tumbling Dice is sublime.

Oddly, I'm not really a Stones fan...

So many great tracks on that album, Tumbling Dice and Sweet Virginia as already mentioned, Shine a Light, All Down The Line etc.

The Stones finest work, their Sgt Pepper and probably the last album from their best years.
