Thanks Ian, thats what I thought but was confused when it said at the bottom "people who bought these also bought" and showed some SPD.

Well you can use mtb-spd cleats and pedals on road shoes if they have both the 3 hole and 2 hole systems in the sole of the shoe. However it's not recommended. Walking would be akin to ice skating.

I've got these. Very comfortable - however one of the screw holes on one of the shoes, is too big for the screws!

One reviewer said the sole snapped - they don't look very thick - plastic soles need to be thicker for stiffness. Also only one velcro strap - not ideal.

I noticed that Sports Direct are selling the same Muddy Fox RBS100 shoes at the same price so you might get a chance to check out the quality and feel in one of their bigger stores. I've found some of the gear on their web site is not in the stores.

I went for dhb R1's. They have both 2 & 3 holes and I've just changed from SPD to SPD-SL on these shoes. Anyone else unsure of the way they want to go clipless, I wanted to be able to use my MTB shoes if I went to shops (recessed cleats for easier walking) but found I just used MTB on those trips, will find other shoes with both 2 & 3 bolt holes.

My MTB shoes are Lidl's and I'm hoping the Aldi offers will be here soon. I don't know what their shoes are like except they look like road shoes.

If you are confused (weren't we all) then just remember that spd-sl's have three screw holes in the sole and spd's have two slots.

The slots in the spd sole have a little plate underneath into which the cleats screw in and the slots are to adjust the cleat position for comfort.

Some shoes cater for both
