1. Screw the adjuster out about half-way
2. Install brake blocks so that they are hard against the rim (putting a piece of thin card between the rim and the rear end of the block for slight toe-in optional)
3. Tighten up nuts holding blocks
4. Screw adjuster back in, thereby moving blocks away from rim to distance of choice. Both blocks now equal distance from rim.

Sucky noise - simples! :whistle:

Setting up cantis is dreadful - there's far too many ways to adjust them.
It's like solving simultaneous equations with 15 variables.
Thankfully none of my bikes have then any more.
My new pet hate is fixing punctures on a Brommie.

should not have tempted fate saying something like that - knew I was feeling a little off colour today, got 1.95km from home and not feeling good so stopped where I was (quiet section of a bridlepath) and next thing I know I am lying in the mud... not quite the soft landing: forehead has an interesting bruise... seems I passed out for 2-3 mins according to my new garmin edge. just to sort of useful data I really don't need. anyhow back home now... shaky but OK.. no idea what's wrong, but one thing is for certain - that Dr's appointment I have in 1 hours time is not going to happen - can't get there given I have to cycle 6.5miles each way to see him! think a quiet afternoon is in order - may give my road bike that clean it needs!
Just come to this thread. Good work everyone on ignoring this post :thumbsup:

Changing them is as easy as a very easy thing, wrapped up in easy string.

Setting them up (which should be a one time thing) is a bit more fiddly.

there are things which should be one time and things that are not . magura fit into the latter. changing the blocks was really easy click click done . then the wheel wouldn't turn as the blocks were against the rim. so it was strip down and re set up. i cleaned the whole bike in less time than it took to set up the damn things
