What replacement freehub for Powertap GS?

The freehub on my Powertap GS has died. I think the hub is a re-badged DT Swiss240 (with additional electronics), 24h with straight pull spokes (if that makes any difference) and running SRAM 10 speed on it. Can anyone advise what replacement I need? Bonus points if you can send me a link to a good priced one!

TIA

Lots of information in a Google search. Like the contributor in one result, I'd always understood that Novatec freehubs were compatible with Powertap - I've got one stored away so that I can convert my wheel between Shimano and Campag, but not yet got round to fitting it.

I'd look for an eBay seller offering Novatec, who says they'll fit a GS.

Thanks, yes I'd done the search and seen that result but wasn't entirely sure in the end what was appropriate. Lots of info also on other search engines btw, without having to further enrich dominant American tech bros ;-)

If your hub looks like this, then yoiu need a DT swiss freehub body. DT makes 2 types IIRC. You need the one with the clutch mechanism. How did this freehub die? Unless the body is damaged, you can get all the parts for it. It isn't an easy install though since it requires a special tool to remove the bearings.

When you say 'died' I presume you mean it spins both ways? From what I've seen on the net in my searches once you remove the retaining nut the freehub will slide off. You'll then see if it can be easily fixed with a good clean and lube. I'd try that before forming out on a new one. Apologies but I'm a bugger for not spending money unless as a last resort 😉

Thanks - that's exactly the problem. The bike shop I went to told me I needed a new one. That's really good to know - no apologies necessary! Very happy not to spend money (and to throw away usable parts) if it's not necessary. Do you have any relevant links/search terms?

It'll be 'suck it and see' as they say. My guess is the pawls will be gunged up. Give it a clean, bit of degreaser, then some light oil (defo not grease) on the pawls. There may be a piece of sprung wire that's broke. If so then unless you can find one on the net (good luck with that one) sadly it may be a replacement freehub. The spring is key. If it's not broke then clean pawls, lightly lubricate, refit.
