Must admit I really like the look if the EC-130, but it's not be reviewed by any of the press yet and I don't think it's even in there showroom to have a look at so you could be spending 2.5k on donkey.

Just another reason to go for the Planet X - they're now offering Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLS or Fast Forward F6R wheels as a free upgrade. Mental.

That looks kick-ass! Unfortunately given my average speeds, trying to ride around on that would be like trying to go shopping in a Lamborghini. One day I may invest in such a bike simply because I love that racy style. Has anyone actually ridden something like this after riding a normal road bike? If so how much more aerodynamic did it feel? Kind of like how I feel that tucking right down (head more or less on the handlebars) helps a bit in a head wind.

Judging from their other bikes, this one will be good. As for speed, who cares! If you're spending £2k, then you may as well buy something you like. At least with Planet X you're buying a bike which has, on paper, very little margins. Spend the same on a 'branded' bike and you'll struggle to get a full group set, let alone carbon wheels. Anyway. Wish I had £2k to spend on that bike lol.

If I had £2k to spend on a bike right now, I would probably choose an Orbea Avant M30D. Or a Merida Ride 5000. Or a Trek Domane 4.3 Disc.

Any of those bikes would suit me fine, dunno if they'd be right for anyone else. YMMV, as they say.

I placed an order for one of these on Wednesday before this upgrade was announced. I'm going to call PX in the morning, I'm hoping I can take this option up.

If your bike hasn't been built they should be fine. I originally asked for an RT-58 with SRAM Apex, next day the rival came down £50 less than the Apex offer. I rang and they honoured it without any snags. If not, just say you'll cancel the order and re-order. You lucky toad.

No it's not been built yet, the frames are scheduled to arrive at PX next week.
