Outcome.
They gave me a time slot of between 11.00 & 13.00 today.
So......having inbibed a few last night I was lying in bed at 08.00.........yes 08.00.....when the doorbell goes. (I suppose 0800 is sort of nearly maybe close to 1100)
Anyway its all set up and working.
All I need now is a 5 year old to teach me all the smart TV thingies:smile:
And how to work the remote.

Am I one of the only ones that got a smaller TV then what I had previous?
Went from a 48" jobbie down to 37". We do have quite a nice sized living room but it was just too big, those fewer inches do make a difference between having a TV in the corner to HAVING A TV IN THE CORNER!

As I read on a forum "I have heard people say I wish I had gone bigger but never I wish we had gone smaller".
Our room is over 6 metres long and 4 mtrs wide so it takes the bigger one quite well.

All I can say is.........when you are an old fart like me you will take all the help you can get. At least now I can watch the footy and know who has passed to whom (or vice versa)

That's what huge projection TV's in pubs are for...

Mates were enthusing about a new pirate channel they'd found to watch cricket: "You can see the ball & everything!"

A few years back I was riding over to my mates house one dark evening on my motorbike. I was just working my way through the outskirts of Stratford-on-Avon near where he lived and I took a fairly sharp left turn and all i could see in front of me was a football match. Well that's what it looked like for a fraction of a second.

What I was seeing was a huge TV with the footie on through the large patio windows in this house. The TV must have been absolutely massive.

I have just got a 48 inch (TV, ooh errr) and it feels massive in the room - currently watching Game of Thrones on it and it's awesome (Samsung smart TV since you ask). However, I think 55 inch would not be a huger problem space wise in this admittedly small room - but whether the missus would let me is another matter...
