Eat, drink, sleep (boo), cycle, cinema, pretty much anything I want to do.

Another vote for shopping and cycling. Mrs Marmion cannae shop for groceries (too fast) or clothes (too slow). And I like the solitude of buggering off on my bike on my own. Any other cyclists who I meet when out who decide to join me get tolerated for a brief period of time then I either tell them to crack on or, if they persist, to bugger off. I am a joy.

Tennis isn't much fun.

To be serious, years ago I used to have a pub nearby that had a very good C&W / Irish band on the first Thursday of every month. I used to make a point of going on my own because I wanted to enjoy the music rather than trying to shout over it in conversation with someone. WITHOUT FAIL every bloody time someone I'd never clapped eyes on before would try to engage me in conversation even though my refusal to do more than grunt or meet their eye made it plain I didn't want to engage. They were never interesting people but absolute bores and the type who could not stand their own company but desperately needed someone to talk to. I used to end up getting quite rude sometimes, especially when they would try and insist on paying for the pint I'd just ordered.

I have always found that people who can't stand being on their own for more than a few minutes are intensely irritating. They never have any worthwhile conversation but they don't stop talking for long enough to draw breath.

A man after my own heart. If we went for a pint together and there was live music, I can guarantee you 2 hours of silence apart from asking you if you want a refill. :okay:
