What three things would you like to do in your lifetime?

Family wise I'd like to do a good job bringing my kids up and organise things with work so we have more family time together (in progress). I'd also like to move back up north to West Yorkshire sooner rather than later. That's two then.

For the third I'd like to get my endurance, fitness and climbing ability up for long evets like the Sue Ryder 88 mile sportive, one of the rides based on Paris Rubaix (bad spelling :-)) and the long course version of the Alpe D'Huez triathlon.

"Oh dear what a shame, your first answer was not the one we were hoping for."

"Anyway Tyred, from Ireland, let's take a look at what you would have won....."

Intersting this - lots of "kids growing up" ones - which just goes to show that it's the same for most all of us parents really, your kids come along and the focus of what your previously wanted for yourself goes out of the window and your kid's future takes over.

On a similar note to others then, my first one is:

"Enjoy watching my daughter grow up, become a woman in her own right, and find a loving partner to make her happy in life (and a sub-thing of hoping for grandchild/ren if she does)"

For number two I've got to go back to when I was at school and came home for lunch to watch the first shuttle launch. It was delayed and I refused to go back to school until I'd seen it lift off. Mother was furious, and the school weren't particularly sympathetic to my obsession with space and NASA, but then I don't suppose many of them had the mad desire to be an astronaut like I did. So, number two:

"Blast into outer space."

The third one is a bit more ethereal. Whilst I could go for world peace, I'm going to go for something a little simpler and closed to home. Number three is:

"Good health and a long life into old age for me and the missus."

Ta da.

Cheers,
Shaun

Actually my third is a work in progress so I'll go for something a little less physical and say "Find God or discount him/her entirely."

I'd have to have a good think about 2 and 3 but 1 would be an enjoyable job or better still it would be not having to have to work* for a living.

*When I say work I mean that in the loosest sense, natch.
