My shift has changed to 7am - 4pm. I set the alarm for 4:50am and aim to leave the house at 5:30am. Get to work about 6:20, 13 miles in the dark. Shower and change and at my desk just before 7am.

Do I leave too much time, can I have a lie in?

If I am on an early shift, I get everything 100% ready the night before. Wake up 20 minutes before I need to leave. Cycle 45 minutes to get to work, get changed, shower etc, grab a coffee and sign in at work.

40 mins to get ready? Not a morning person then

I have everything ready the night before. Alarm set for 6.15am. Get up, pint of water and a morsel of food, get my gear on, out of the door by 6.30am. Go down to garage, unlock bike, clip in computer, turn on lights etc off and pedalling by 6.35am for a 1 hour commute.

I should add, that I then shower, get changed, have brekkie (big bowl of fruit and fibre) and a nice cup of tea (as I am doing now) and then I am ready to face the world

Up at 6 or ten past (I love the snooze button) and on the road by ten to seven after a brew and a quick read of CC.

Get to work twenty minutes early, open up, make another brew and am ready to start at 8.

I start at 5.45 so up at 4.45 quick wash and out the door for 5am for a 5 mile commute get changed in work, most important everything's ready night before.

Up at 6.50-7.00 - down stairs, feed cats, make brew, eat breckie, get bike out, back up and out by 7.30 - 7.40. In work by 8.10, or other site by 8.30 (4 miles further), then get changed.

My Alarm is set for 7:15 and I'm usually showered, had breakfast and out the door by 7:45-50. I could do it faster but that'd be a rush, this way I've got another 10min or more before I'm late. And mornings like today, when I just couldn't get up I'm comfortable lying listening to another song before I move. I'm supposed to start work at 8:30 and I'm usually in the office garage before 8:20 and at my desks a few minutes later but I like a wind down period before I actually start.

No,I tend to aim for an hour before I start work.

Friday I have to leave at 345am for the target time of 430am.

Gives me an hour as im out at 530am.

Set alarm for 620am, get up at 630 and downstairs, pack work bag and make flask of Coffee etc. Unload dishwasher and have brekkie, usually a cup of tea and a bowl of Shredded wheat with nuts, honey and semi skimmed milk. Get clobber on and set off for work, which is only 1/2 a mile from my front door so I do a 14 mile loop with three 1 in 6 climbs and get to work about 815 after leaving at about 715, (i can do it 10-15 minutes quicker if I use the road bike.)

Ready for work at 830 and come 500pm I do the same route again.

I get everything ready the night before. Alarm goes off at 7:30. Get washed and changed, go downstairs and feed the little munchkins, grab some breakfast and set off at 8am. Get to work just before 8:15 (4 miles mainly all downhill - yipee!). Jump in the shower quickly then I'm at my desk for 8:30.
I really must go and get my lunch and saddle bag sorted soon actually. No choice but to cycle in tomorrow regardless of the gale force winds and rain - just sold the car far sooner than I had expected and don't pick up my new one until Friday afternoon.........

In my first job, when I was still a slave to the car; I showered and shaved the night before so it the morning it was only breakfast brush teeth, splash the face and out the door in sub 15 minutes and at my desk 15 later for around 6:45am to beat the traffic. I couldn't be bothered with all that hassle now.

I like to get up at least an hour before I leave. That gives me time for coffee, breakfast, the three S's, and a relaxed departure. I like to get there a half hour early as well, gives me time in case of a faerie visit, and a relaxed start to the day. Trip to the loo, wash and splash, refill my water bottle, and get my skates on. Literally.

You could set the alarm for an hour later to be fair and eat brekkie at work.

My alarm is an hour fast anyway.Don't know why I do it but I do.I think it fools me into thinking im having more sleep than I really am.I have three alarm clocks now.

My main clock has 6 rows of lights which light up one row every three minutes (or six) and if that doesn't wake me then the main (sound) alarm does.Generally the lighting up of the room usually awakes me.

I never have breakfast but I make sandwiches for eating at work and sometimes I have a cup of tea.

When I was on earlies, I would set the alarm for about 45mins before I actually had to be at work. All I did was dress, make a cup of instant coffee cool enough to be drunk immediately (I know, it seems so sordid now), get the bike out of the shed and pedal the two miles to work.
Setting the alarm to leave only just enough time got me reliably out of bed despite my low willpower levels and eating breakfast was best left until my first break about 2 hours into the shift.
