Good call and about as low as I would go for a propel .
What propel has he got ?
I've no idea...just hope it's not a black one ;)

Isn't it just like a super uncomfortable roadbike?

Compared to my Thorn any road bike is uncomfortable.

He keeps trying to talk me into buying a road bike, but I am not quite ready to go over to the dark side just yet

I will take a close look at pedals, I think I will buy him a decent set.

Not sure, all I know is its red

I have asked him, I have to wait when he has a spare minute in the day to reply.

Buy him some performance coaching. Easily the most useful thing he could possibly have, if he plans on entering competitions...

Performance coaching sounds interesting and just up his street. I will look on Google to see if someone does it in Jersey.

I just had a look on the giant website and as this is in red, I guess its this one?

Well, obviously what he needs to go with that is a nice carradice, perhaps a nelson.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Seriously, pedals are a good idea, though if he is doing some serious training he is definitely going to want a Garmin.

Maybe, if they work for cycling too, one of those garmin watch thingies which he can also use while running

Damn, there go the wheels!!

If he likes shiny new stuff and bear in mind as his dad you're not obliged to help his actual performance, you could get him an aerodynamic, carbon drop-handlebar...

I wouldn't get him replacement parts. If he's just spend the best part of £2k on a bike, he's presumably got the bike he wants. Buying bits could be as unwelcome as buying clothing for a teenager.

Lots of serious cyclists seem to use/need cadence. I assume the watches won't give you that.

Some do but for measuring footfall during that weird running thing!
