What to buy

Hi

I'm a real newbie to cycling and real know next to nothing about bikes.

I bought myself a Giant Roam 2 last week and now my other half wants a bike for his birthday in September. He won't cycle much and will use it on roads and from time to time tracks.

Any suggestions as to what I should get for him? The budget is up to a max of £550-600.
