So after many years of terrible annoyance unadulterated joy, the long suffering ever-pampered Mister Tillyflop asked me to tie the knot.

The wedding plans are going really well, but we're kind of stuck on ideas for a honeymoon. I want somewhere where I have the option to do NOTHING AT ALL (except drink wine and read, with the occasional swim) and he wants some activities like um, diving and visiting interesting places and seeing nice animals maybe. We'd like it to be warm and not rainy / hurricaney.

And food. Food is very important.

We tried asking one of those holiday companies for help. They laughed at our budget and told us to come back when we had FOUR GRAND?! (Seriously, what planet are these people from?).

We could stretch to maybe a thousand each, if we really had to (prefer not!)

Other bugger is that it has to be between 21st July - 3rd August (not the whole of those dates, that's just our window of availability).

Any ideas?

Congratulations! How about Dominican Republic? I'm not sure about prices but it would be lovely and has some amazing marine flora and fauna.

Or... You could forget the honeymoon and buy 2x n+1's!

Croatia, the island of Bol. lazy by the pool on on the rocks, there is not any sand, a few water sports and cycling and it's cheap for food and drink.

Having once been treated for skin cancer I avoid sunny climes.

Being in busy places brings out my pathologically violent side, so London, New York, Paris were all out.

In the end I took Mrs Drago II to Torshavn in the Faroes, where we enjoyed an utterly enchanting 2 weeks. I'd very much like to revisit with a few bikes in my hand luggage ;)
