Here's somewhere worth visiting:

Traction Engines, narrow gauge railways and standard gauge stuff with extensive horticultuaral wares on offer and a steam galloper to boot.

Bressingham Hall

Then there's the following nearby attractions.......

Thursford Steam Collection (traction engines and organs)

Strumshaw Steam Museum (traction engines and steam wagons)

North Norfolk Steam Railway (coastal steam railway)
How did you know about my life's ambition to be a train?

Me and the wife spent a week in a private villa with private pool self catering flights included in Tuscany this year and Spain the year before, both times we only spent £500ish each, check out James villas, cheaper than you think!

My entire wedding cost less than £1000, and £400 of that was my suit. On our first day of wedded bliss I took my wife to the beach to see Sizewell power station.

An acquaintance of my sister was boasting to us about how his wedding (done purely for tax reasons, I think) cost £600.

This has given us a target to get under!;) Although if we include the honeymoon, that might be harder. But if we don't call it a honeymoon, just a conveniently timed holiday....

My wife and I had already lived together for a decade by the time we got married. We only gave our parents two week's notice and had a lovely May wedding with only close family present. We then had a wedding reception with an open invite in September.

We don't tend to rush around much.

If you tell folk you're on a honeymoon you might get upgrades

I left my honeymoon in the hands of my father (mum and dad were paying as our wedding present) and we ended up in Davos, in Switzerland, a ski resort in the height of summer (end of july / start of august) which was a bit odd in that I'm used to places closing for the winter, not the summer but it was enjoyable, we did plenty of walking and exploring the place, including attempting to swim in the lake, which turned out to be a lake that fills up with glacier melt so is always freezing!

A cheap sunny, lay on the beach but able to explore holiday? I'd got to Soller or Port de Soller in mallorca, It's a small town at the quieter end of the island with a beautiful beach where you can enjoy the sun, the bars and swim, but also you can happily go off for a wander around the area or drive to the more touristy areas.

my in-laws own a small single apartment set in a small orchard (so on it's own, not part of a block of apartments) that they rent out, if you want details, message me and I'll get the details for your. It's a short walk down to the beach, the trams stop right outside if you didn't want to walk back.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

Less than £1000, including service, reception for about 70 guests and honeymoon. In today's money that's less than £1800. My suit cost a tenner from a charity shop. Mrs W spent about £40 on her outfit.

(I see I've still got one of my honeymoon photos as my avatar.)

If you can cope with low church puritanism after the high-church froth and campery of Mirfield, I'd recommend Kirkwall.
