midweek next week? I’d like to spend a few days touring while the family’s away, so I’m looking for suggestions of reasonable routes, trails, towpaths or quiet lanes. Having trained a bit over the last few months on the Tissington and high peak trails to sort the bike out, two days in one direction and two back would be nice, trying to avoid bug hill climbs and major roads.
I don’t mind throwing the bike on the car and heading somewhere to start as well.
Trying to avoid the crowds, so North Wales is out. But I was wondering about heading up from Macclesfield, doing some of the transpennine way, but I don’t want to spend a lot of time weaving round estates in Manchester as I’d rather be out in open country.
