We live in the real world. You have no idea what she calls me. She would not change anything about me, That's what she tells me.

I think my partner would prefer 'the wife' to 'my wife' or 'wife #2' I'm pretty sure we both refer to each other as 'the other half' from time to time - it's never occurred to me that it could be construed as demeaning.

I usually say "my better half", but if I ever say "my wife" it's to indicate her relationship to me, and not to suggest she's my possession.
