Watched episode 1 of Scarpetta last night on Amazon Prime.
I was a big fan of the Patricia Cornwell books they are based on.

Was pretty good, need to see how it develops. Nicole Kidman and an over the top Jamie Lee Curtis star.

Also watched it last night and only remembered when you posted.
I can see it had its qualities but I was left feeling like someone had thrown a barrow of cash at a Silent Witness script. Early days but I'm not sure I'm cheering for any of the characters either.

Drops of god series 2 (Apple)

Loved series 1 but have pulled the rip cord after 1 episode of series 2. Like too many sequels, it's like they got the gang back together before having an idea about where to go with it.

I enjoyed series 1 despite it being pretentious tosh but they've decided that people liked it because it's pretentious tosh and have leaned further into it.

I am glad you posted this, as I suspected as much.
I agree that series 1 was enjoyable, pretentious tosh, but I also thought it had a definitive ending.
Hence my reluctance to start series 2.
I won’t be falling into that trap now.

I was persuaded to watch this series by my partner - my suspicion is that one her friends recommended it:

It's an 8 part, I suppose you would call it comedy thriller type thing.

We are nearly 6 episodes through.

The first 2-3 were pretty good I thought, but my attention has waned, the plot is all over the place (intentionally I suspect) and I don't really feel invested in ANY of the characters, as in I'm not really bothered what happens to them, or what transpires!

That could just be me of course.

It also seems very 'cartoonish' and it always seem to be up at volume 10 if that makes sense, there's always drama, or something loud or out of the ordinary going on, so much that I think it detracts from the underlying plot.

I love a cartoonish type thing as much as the nest person, I'm a huge fan of the Wes Anderson films, but for me they handle it much differently, and fully commits to it.

I'm invested enough that I want to know what happens, but I equally just want to get to the end and be done with it - this is what happens when I stray from foreign language programs!

Yes I liked it to start with but 8 eps is too long. Would have been fine if they'd wrapped it up in 4 or 5. Hate it when series start well but get spun out too much.

Series 3 of The Capture is good. They're only doing one episode a week on the iplayer but the first two have been excellent. Both with great endings. Good old BBC Drama !

My youngest daughter is in it, but we will be in Bucharest!

I've given up on Yellowstone. I find characters tending to be 2 dimensional; fine if you like them but tedious if you don't. I think Landman has spoiled me, the dialogue is slicker and thick with humour. It's like Taylor Sheridan (the creator of both) has refined his act with practice. Praps if I'd seen Yellowstone first then I'd feel differently - but I didn't and I don't.

I didn't mind it, but it was all over the place tonally, so I really can't be bothered with the prequels or Casey's spin off.

I'm watching The Amazing Digital Circus on yotube and I must say it's quite a blast. I think part of why I like the show so much is because it's influenced/a tribute to the classic sci-fi novel "I have no mouth and I must scream". Caine is basically AM if he were a loveable goofy guy. Also love how the abstracted people remind me of the great jelly thing in the novel. I'm a sucker for fates worse than death in fiction.

A bit of a blast from the past but m.o.a.t. now on Youtube put in quite a performance tonight.
I vaguely recall it from Talksport from 2006 onwards.

Prior to that I watched the IPL highlights, Mumbai v kkr.

Last one Laughing (series 2) (The Brit version). I don't necessarily find all of the comedians funny, but altogether in a room it is a really good laugh. Bob Mortimer is a stalwart and can always be relied upon for the random off-the-wall comments. The young Aussie chap seems a bit weird but he's growing on me. I didn't used to find Romesh Ranganathan very funny, but he's also come up a bit in my estimations
