They were on the verge of bankruptcy. Hammond bought a majority stake in the firm, cleared the debts, and invested a lot of his own cash in new premises and equipment. He spent in the order of £600-700k before they got going. He remains the sole director IIRC.

My word it looks good in UHD

Just finished the last episode of series 4 of Blue Lights. I think that's it finished - a pity - we really enjoyed it - kind of like a Northern Ireland Hill Street Blues with a great cast.

Usually really enjoy this. Just watched the throwback episode which gave the backstory on Gerry. Really put me off him - came across quite creepy. I thought that episode was dragged out and didn't gel. Hope it bounces back in the right timeline.

Very much enjoyed the most recent series of traitors, just sorry to see the Fry go out so early :-(
Absolutely loved the two charities the two winners chose, just knew the likes of the mail/express would be horrified by it and obviously blame the bbc

It's all subjective though. I think he's overrated. He's either wooden or forced, never convincing and believe he'd have never become a professional actor had he not had plenty of family connections. IMO, of course.

I'm with you. Wooden is spot on. One-dimensional. Never forgiven him for his Captain Corelli: excellent book; terrible, terrible movie.

The Gentlemen, series 2.

Thought we were in for a less good rehash of the first series. The last few episodes however got some serious momentum. Great entertainment. Episode 7 as a standalone hour of TV was absolutely banging. Vinnie Jones is excellent!

Coppola ? I dont know I like alot of Nic Cage films, just for what he brings to them that I genuinely dont believe a.n.other actor could, there arent enough wacky actors in Hollywood anymore, but Is Captain Correlli's Mandolin his only real serious role to date other than Leaving Las Vegas ? which was damn good imo

Captain Corelli's Mandolin was garbage, but that wasn't all down to Cage, it was just a terrible adaptation in general.

He's done plenty of "serious" stuff. Pig is probably the most recent, although I'd count Mandy as well. Bit older, but his performance in Bad Lieutenant is incredible, Adaptation too.
