Anything's going to struggle if it involves James Cordon - I suspect he'd manage to irrecoverably sully even the greatest televisual achievements with his presence if given the opportunity... like a damp turd left inside the finest silk purse.
Horses for courses. I personally find Gavin and Stacey to be a work of comedy genius, and also really enjoyed The Wrong Mans. I've enjoyed his American work much less, but that's largely because its just the average US comedy rubbish written by a team of writers

We're an episode or two behind you! It's decent,. although a lot of characters to remember.
Phew - not just me then!! (In fact, N is usually way better at following whodunnit-type stories, and she confessed to being lost

The wholly irrelevant subplot around Cormorants ex didn't help!

Still, enjoyable overall, and a rare non-rubbish use of modern gaming/tech in a story, so kudos to the guy that wrote it 😉

The guy who wrote it owns the farm just down the road from here

Doctor Who xmas special (Joy to the world).

Enjoyed quite a lot of it, and think Gatwa mught really shine if he's given a good script/story.

But when was the last REALLY good Doctor Who story?

Probably 'Blink' in 2007.

Agree it was pretty decent by and large even if we could have done without it being all maudlin at the end even acknowledging it being a Christmas special. I too think Ncuti is a pretty good Doctor, given decent material. Apart from the awful Space Babies and the terrible disapointment of the Sutehk one, I though the stories were pretty decent. I very much liked the music one, dot-and-bubble and the two parter about the dodgy populist PM with the mysterious lady.

Last night, I watched the Guy Martin programme about the Triumph Streamliner, & the attempt to break the Land Speed Record for a Motorcycle, at Bonneville
I know the story of it, but was nice to see it filmed
I'd have liked to see scenes, when Matt Markstaller took him to where he works (or did when filming took place), at Freightliner Trucks

Been watching 'The Winter King', pretty good so far and seems to be sticking pretty close to the book, wonder if it will continue for the rest of the trilogy. :hyper:
