Similar thing here we only started watching this last series.
I suppose start at series 1 but I guess you could start anywhere as not sure if the series have a continuing story line or not?
There are some vague overarching plot lines, but if you blinked you wouldn't notice them.

Always meant to watch that but it goes back 20 years or something. Is there a good season to start at as a beginner, or would I need to watch from S1E1?

Spare yourself.
It's a pit of self indulgent tosh.

They are techies, anoraks and sensibly kept in the background.
There's a reason for that! They are total analists, and deserve to be in the beige uplands of non ness

What you shouldn't watch is Departure on Netflix.

Plane disappears from radar from JFK to Heathrow. They don't quite know what happened apart from one girl got sucked out at 30,000 feet and fell into the ocean to be recovered by search vessels - in her dinghy.

Only watched the other 5 episodes for an answer on how that would be possible and they just ignored the situation. Absolute bobbins.

Don't fall for it !

SWMBO just binge-watched series 1. We were hooked.
Spoiler alert
A few things -
- we assumed that the plane had descended to a much lower altitude before the girl fell out the plane
- the hole in the side of the plane was never explained
- we did not believe that a submersible would have no alarms going off as it approached its critical depth
- the geography of London is all over the place - they seem to be able to get to an inner city hospital and back to a remote location instantly
- Archie Panjabi has numerous inexplicable wardrobe and hairstyle changes between scenes

But on the whole, if you suspend disbelief, it’s gripping (or we thought so).

Thank you
Another excuse for not having Netflix.

Yes we popped an episode of that on the other night, just to mix it up a bit with Silent Witness on the go too

Makes Hidden Nazi War Machines seem a welcome relief

just went off down a google wormhole, but the presenter of that, which I have never watched, is the brother of The Rest is History podcaster Tom Holland, both of whom (obviously) are great nephews of Charles Holland, the first Brit to compete in the Le Tour de France

The War of the Worlds in Disney+. Loosely based on the HG Wells story. Well made, with a well thought out plot. A good watch, if a tad slow at times. However, the sciency word salad thrown about in series three is starting to annoy me, as it did the "management" of the insulin deficiency of one of the characters in series 2.
