does it follow the book at all ?

It uses the book as a jumping-off point, really. Most of the key characters in the book appear- Juliana Crain, Abendsen (of course), Tagomi, Wegener aka Baynes, Childan, Frink. Joe Cinnadella becomes Joe Blake, an American SS agent (who at one point uses the pseudonym Cinnadella). Well worth the time, IMHO.

In short, no. I read it yonks ago, so I stand to be corrected, but I agree with @StuAff above. The book has a more limited scope but is well worth a read if only to see the inspiration.

I'm also enjoying Ripple. Set in New York of today, follows several people's stories and where they intersect. Undeniably 'feel good' and bordering on schmaltz but it really works. Kinda like watching a lava lamp where all the distinct colours flow in the same space together thematically to be one lamp. It's a lovely gentle watch, well acted with a genuine sensitivity and emotion.

The behind the scenes programme was good too. You really don’t know just how much goes in to it.

I watched that at about 21:00, after getting home from work
Rather interesting

We drove past Yockenthwaite to get to our ‘holiday home’, at Beckermonds, earlier this year
As Rachel Shenton (Helen Herriot) stated, it's a glorious location, but a heck of a backwater for the larger vehicles to get to, for production purposes

And visited Grassington, on the way up there (again!)

Yes, I liked Silo. I'm looking forward to seeing where the next series takes us. It (season 3) is due to start soon I believe.

Quite enjoying Outrageous on iplayer with Mrs G. It’s a 6 programme series based on the Mitford sisters. The rise of the Fascists is very chilling even when presented in a Wodehouse like way.

I thought it was excellent and I'm glad the BBC bought it. It's nicely set up for a series 2 too.

Just finished watching the BBC’s 2005 Bleak House on iplayer, absolutely amazing. Don’t know how I managed to miss it at the time. Loved every minute of it.
