Lino Guanciale, who plays the inspector, was also very good in The Red Door (La Porta Rossa), also still available on Walter Presents.

Agreed, loved the Red Door, all series 1 was brilliant, 2 dipped a bit for me, but 3 was the perfect, unexpected, shocking ending.

Shame there appears to not be more love in general for foreign subtitled dramas, there's some wonderfully different series out there that are a real breath of fresh air.
Different filming styles, actors you may have never seen before, gorgeous/scenic (more often than not) locations, varied scripts and plots - there's no downsides for me.
Another plus is that it's really 'easy' to watch whilst on the turbo, as you have the subtitles if your turbo/fan get mega noisy

There only appears to be a few of us on here that watch foreign drama, and it was similar on the old BR forum, me and couple of die hards, but that was it.

Starring Richard Armitage I do believe?

Him off of spooks, and not that I have watched any of them, but seemingly 95% of the tv adaptations of Harlan Coben books.

I'll be interested to hear what you make of it.

There only appears to be a few of us on here that watch foreign drama,

I love a foreign drama. You get to see new scenery, new cultures and new actors without any of the expectations that come with familiar faces.

Right now we're watching a comedy drama set in '40s Spain called A Private Affair (Un asunto privado) on Prime. A murder mystery with some quirky humour, particularly from the lead character Marina Quiroga and supported by her faithful butler, the marvellous Jean Reno.

Initially we watched it with English dubbing but that was so badly done, with everything said in a monotone, emotionless fashion, that we switched it to Spanish with English subtitles. Massive improvement.

It's beautifully shot, with great cars and fashions of that era.
