Going through the 1973 The Ascent of Man (Bronowski). Might be old but brilliant then and still interesting and thought provoking.

Sort of set a pattern for subsequent documentaries.

Excellent series. I was nearly 17 when the series aired. I can still hear his voice, too.

My mum bought me the accompanying book to the series - it was a great read.

I don't watch TV in any form, and stopped watching it 20 years ago. I do like watching TV series on DVD, though, so my 'TV' is basically just a glorified monitor. Currently, I'm watching Stranger Things, and I like it a lot. I'm partly through season 4 of 5. I'm embarrassed to admit I recognise a lot of the song/artist titles for its music, too, since it played in my late teens / early tweens.

It is fascinating how we all perceive the same media differently.

I was recommended Stranger Things and I eagerly gave it a whirl but was flabbergasted as to how bad it was. I gave it three episodes and just gave up on it.

My view - dross for a YA audience.

The same friend recommended Reacher, too. And that was beyond abysmal.

If he wasn't my best friend I would consider de-friending him.

House of Fools, for about the fifth time.

Pretty much Vic Reeve's Big Night Out in sit com format, with the added bonus of the lovely Morgana Robinson, and Matt Berry stealing the show as Beef.

Even though I know the scripts virtually off by heart it's still just as funny as the first time.
