Night Train

I guess if I shared a few carpentry skills we could keep on cycling.

But the roadies might want something more sophisticated.

I can build a fence, tension barbed wire and slap on creosote like a demon - so if you want to keep the neighbours out when it all goes down the pan i'm your woman!

I used to volunteer at a Community Farm and instead of working with the animals as I'd have liked, I ended up having to help with the DIY jobs instead, seeing as I was one of the few blokes on site (blatant sexism I tells ya!), so yes, I know all about building fences and so on too!

That said, I did learn how to remove muck from and work with horse's hoofs (where and where not to touch, etc) as well as working with pigs, goats, ducks, geese, chickens and other animals besides.

I can hunt fish shoot track, make sharps (flint knapping and or steel shaping) build shelters both long term and short term, make fire flint and steel bowdrill, chemical, make clothes, produce dye from plants and make it stay in the clothe rather than run all overthe skin. make pots from clay/mud and carve out of wood, I can cook food for small groups of people without metal pots and pans, and Identfy food/plants that are safe to eat. I also know that without at least 15 other people who are like minded, I'd never survive for more than 18 months ( 2 years if the winter is mild)

I can work wood, metal, and stone. I can make tools out of stuff I find. I can cook, skin and gut animals (though not kill them), make fire, source, store and purify water, process dung, make a small amount of electricity, dug the ground for someone else to grow crops, make/build a cold store for excess food and make wheeled transport. I can work with dogs and ride horses, fell trees, devise ways to move heavy and awkward objects, survey the terrain, and build shelters from whatever local materials are to hand.

I also used to be a pretty good aim with a bow and arrow, and a thrown rock.
I nominate Night Train for Chief Scout!
I can work with wood, not so much with metal although I can produce a strong weld, it's just not as neat as it could be.
I'm still learning to cook on / in an oven having been taught how to cook on scout camps with a two ring gas burner that had on or off as heat options and a camp fire I just put the oven on full blast and go from there. I can light a fire and keep it going in a controlled manner using wood slowly.
although I think I'd be in Night Train's workshop as his apprentice unless Arch has already taken that position
oh, I can build dry stone walls.

I watched a programme were they powered a house -electricity wise - with spinning bikes.
I reckon we could do that.
Once we all make our way down to Night Train and Arch's we'll be well looked after.
