What was going on this morning at Shoreditch High St / Hackney Road / Old St

This morning in London on the junction where Shoreditch High Street, Hackney Road, and Old Street intersect, around 9:15AM, there were about 20 police officers who had stopped cyclists and taking down their details.

Does anyone know what was going on? My guess is they were going through red lights but does anyone know for sure?

RLJ's i would imagine but maybe, just maybe they were fashion police

they have a token crackdown on cyclists in cambridge from time to time, usually around fireworks night - 10-15 of them line one of the main routes through town and have a field day pulling every cyclist riding without lights and fining them - last time i saw this, if they fined everyone they pulled, they must have made a mint - shame they haven't got resource to do it more often, would put pay to ninja cyclists around here...for a while.

It WAS the fashion police, they were on their way to talk to Beatrice and Eugenie about some dodgy hats they wore to their big cousins wedding.
But stopped at Old St because they noticed how many bright lycra clad loons there appeared to be passing through the aforementioned junction. So they decided to stop them and give them free mirrors, so that hopefully the following day they would realize what they look like BEFORE leaving the house.

This is very tongue in cheek, but the warmer weather certainly does bring out the Armstrong, Wiggins, Hoy, types among us.
