why have a £100 rear wheel and a £15 (was £35) basic front wheel?

Before I order it... can anyone suggest any replacement brake pads? I think in the couple of years I've had the bike I'm still on the original ones! (and original tyres).

If there's any good ones from halfords I can always buy it from there as I can get 20% off.

Those. Got some on the Defy 2, they are immensely better than the standard Tektro pads and work well in the wet too.

Halfords should have them too.

I have to say that my preference is not cheap but they are stunningly good in the wet and out brake anything else (of anyone is behind me I actually have to tell them I am stopping so they don't run into me). I usually buy them from Germany when I am pacing a larger order. The only saving grace is that you will only need to order 1 lot because they come in 2 pairs unlike the links above. The current set have been on my bike for 5,000km and are still going strong. The previous set lasted 7,500km.
