Boy, this could run and run, couldn't it?

In seriousness, no - the old fashioned part of me thought it boorish and ungentlemanly, and the new fangled part of me disliked it too, for reasons that are slightly more difficult to articulate. I confess, the independence debate, and political debate in general in the modern age, isn't an arena where I've thought, "Wow, this argument needs a lot more facile peurility, as it's insufficiently polarised, simplistic and nasty right now."

As ever, YMMV on that last point, but letting those partcular posts pass unremarked (even if remarking only in the lazy, jaded, sarcastic way that I did) didn't sit well with me.
