I'm not in lockdown but I'm not as busy at the moment as I usually am. So, catching up on some books. Currently reading this one -

Nabbed a second hand copy from Ebay. A recommendation from a friend.

Maverick Goose

A jumped up pantry boy, who never knew his place
Tommy by Richard Holmes (about British soldiers in WW1)
Lots of art books

I need to move from spurious/volatile social media threads, to dead-tree books ASAP!
I have the latest Charlie Walker* on the go, that's a goodie. I have a huge backlog of bike-racing books (all gifts/loans), but I might find reading those too depressing at the moment

*Mostly-bike trip across asia and round Africa. Nice warts-n-all writing, and he's very funny when he wants to be.

End to End (John O'Groats, broken spokes and a dog called Gretna) by Alistair McGuinness - Currently halfway into that one.
You are Awful (But I Like You) by Tim Moore - Also halfway in.
Pies and Prejudice (In Search of the North) by Stuart Maconie
Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes - A Spanish colleague bought me this and I've not got around to it yet.
Collected Poems by Clive James

Immediately springing to mind:

Albert Camus: "The Plague"
Gabriel Garcia Marquez: "Love in the Time of Cholera"
Nevil Shute: "On the Beach"

Cycling Weekly. There is interesting speculation that one day there might be some professional cycling for them to write about in future issues. They remind casual readers that now is a good time to invest in a Cycling Weekly subscription!

Apparently not library books!

All closed here for the duration.

Interesting Waterstone's is still open and doing brisk business.

Maybe, just maybe, library staff are helping out in schools. Who knows?

I will be venturing up into the loft to grab some books by John Mortimer, John Buchan and Elizabeth Taylor.

I was hoping it would come this morning, but I'll fill in time with an old copy of Granta.
