When a good number of your audience are turning to Google to understand you, you know you should have chosen a different word.

I wish the person no harm - none of my business. But am/was not interested in the points of view supported, and the way in which they were communicated on this forum.

I don't think crankarm was that bad. He annoyed people immensely from day one, but as a forum you get used to someone's quirks, what they post about and what they get angry about and how to manage it (that's what is good about this forum). Crankarm was similar in this respect to several of the people in this thread who have slagged him off who have similar personalities to him.
