I can confirm that Waffly is fit and well.

That's nice to hear, while we are on the subject of missing persons, what happened to vincealot? He seemed to be on here a very short time then disappeared.

Being as how I avoid visits to P&L, I probably missed Cranky's more hardcore opinions.   As he could usually lever at least one capital punishment reference into every 'Commuting' thread, including the ones on mudguards, I can only imagine.  Mr 'Bludge of this parish once pointed out to me during a real-life conversation that anyone who seemed to attract threats, abuse and near-death experiences like Crankers probably would develop a certain world view.  For me, he will be fondly remembered for the most hardcore flounce ever committed on CC when he announced his withdrawal from cycling altogether. If anything, his post rate went up afterwards as he popped up in any sort of 'incident' thread to predict the almost certain death of anyone on two wheels, followed with the hope the the perpetrators would be hanged.  Hilarious, and for that reason alone, missed by me.

Shame really , as Jimbo had a passion for cycling. A much misunderstood individual  I shall miss him.

I think Cranks CC persona may be slightly different to his real one (I like him) ....A lot of people on the internet can hide behind the anonimity of their forum name.
I, for instance come across as a helpful, understanding allround nice guy. Whilst in reality I 'm just another Insesitive pig who loves nothing better than getting drunk and upsetting people for no reason!

Yes, me too. Despite the somewhat (and I suspect deliberate!) mystic means of presentation, he had a huge knowledge of cycling and his absence is a genuine loss to the forum. He had a quirky sense of humour and I reckon many (myself included) didn't always get him.

Btw, I have no idea who Crankarm is/was.
