What's In A Name?

Due to the 'enforced' partial strip-down of the CGR, I took a couple of 'Yorkshire Posts' out of the recycling bin, to lay the chain, & rings, on

I noticed this column
THAT name just has to be a pseudonym!!!!:eek:

Maybe I should have checked, but it did seem to odd to be true

Then again, it's generally the oddest things that are true
 
At college one member of class was called Morris Minor.
My daughter went to her first junior School, with a Minnie Cooper (someone didn't think that one through, when discussing baby names...)

And, at the same School, there was a girl named Portia, the Shakespearean spelling, but same pronunciation as the 'fast Beetles'


'Morris' was the nickname used (but not to his face) by Bodie, & Doyle, to their boss; George Cowley, in 'The Professionals'

That was because, Cowley (Oxfordshire) was where the Morris factory was originally built, and also the name of an early Morris model
