In the present climate he should have no difficulty getting at least £50 for it. Not that I'd dissuade him from tipping it!!!!!

I, like many cyclists, went through a purple phase. You grow out of it.
£50 sounds good for a GT, presumably Taiwanese chromoly frame. I have a similar vintage non sus GT as a loaner and it is better than the average basic transportation bike.

50 quid to someone who just wants an old bike to get out on during lockdpwn, possibly two or three hundred to the crazed loons on Retrobikes who will get jolly excited over Girvin parallelogram front suspension.

What make model year?

Looks like Girvin Vector 2.
Has some vintage fans. Rebuild kits are hard to find.
Sell the forks separately and turn the frame into a proper bicycle.

It would tickle me to own it as I am a bit of a GT fanboy and have 6 if them in the house at the moment, a mixture of MTB and road bikes.
I love the purple, it works for me. Is it an ally frame?
