depends what you're wanting to do with it, a steel-cobalt alloy is my personal favorite.

Steel pays a lot of my bills (steel sheet piling, to be precise) so I love it.

Lead also helps bring the pennies in on a regular basis.

What would a cast iron bike ride like I wonder.

I would guess it would be a fairly gash bike miloat to be honest.
Probably like the difference between steel and aluminium alloy, but magnified 10x.
It would be VERY heavy, and not at all stiff - so if you made it thin enough to be light enough to be possible to pedal it along then it would probably flex quite a bit. It probably wouldn't break though.

That magnified even more, like 100x, would be a solid GOLD bike. In fact that would probably bend like a warm chocolate bar as soon as you got on it.

Aluminium (aluminum if ur a yank)... cos it makes aeroplanes, bikes and tin foil and has an interesting name. I'm sure you could make a house out of it if you put your mind to it. And very possibly shoes, or a pair of flippers.
